Manufacturing and Operation

Brazed plate heat exchangers are manufactured from AISI 316 stainless steel sheet metal and laminated using copper or nickel sheets and then brazed in a vacuum oven. Every other plate is turned 180° in the assembly process to assemble two separate sets of channels, whereas two fluids flow in countercurrent/opposite directions. The pressing design provokes highly turbulent flow as to allow heat exchange even at low fluid speed. The result provides high efficiency heat exchange.

Application

Typical applications for these welded heat exchanger plates are for domestic and commercial usage, for convection heating, cooling, condensing, and evaporating. They can also be used for radiant heating, refrigeration, air conditioning, cooling or heating oil and other fluids.

When used in refrigeration and air conditioning systems, they can be used as an evaporator (Single or double circuit), condenser, a liquid sub-cooler and a super-heater, for recuperating heat. In these cases, it is possible to use Freon, NH3 or CO2.

Dimensioning

Specific computer programs assure optimized dimensioning for each application.

Standard Fittings

Standard plumbing BSP threaded male fittings are used for both circuits. For operations as an refrigeration evaporator, the refrigerant gas side is connected to the weld fittings.
