Manufacturing and Operation

The hermetical welded plates heat exchangers basically consist in AISI 316 plates set, interspersed by copper and nickel plates and brazed in a vacuum furnace.

During the assembly of the heat exchangers, the second plate is assembled at 180° in relation to the first plate (and so on), to the formation of ducts where fluids in countercurrent circulate.

The plates design allows high flow speed of the fluids, even for low flows, resulting in an excellent heat transfer.

Application

Used as evaporators in air conditioning and cooling systems.

Dimensioning

The equipments, mentioned bellow, were dimensioned under the following conditions:
• Cooling gas evaporation temperature = + 1°C
• Water input temperature = 12°C
• Output temperature = 7°C

Maximum pressure: 30 bar
Maximum temperature: 195° C

Application as an evaporator in cooling systems

Brazed heat exchangers are sensitive to the circulating fluid freezing. In case of freezing risk, devices shall be provided in order to minimize risks. Brazed plates heat exchangers shall not be used in applications in ammonia, sulfuric acid, nitric acid, chlorinate water, sea water, extremely flammable of highly toxic fluids, lethal corrosive and the like.
