Operation

The oil separator is used in cooling and air conditioning systems in order to avoid the compressor oil and the coolant gas mixing, which could cause efficiency reduction of the heat exchanging in the condenser as well as in the evaporator. The lack of oil in the compressor may cause the bracing of the bearings or of other vital running components. The oil separation is reached through oil – coolant compressed steam-mixing passage through multiple cyclones specially designed for that purpose.

The separated oil is sent back to the compressor through the direct line controlled by a float valve that opens or closes automatically according to the oil level in the separator.

Manufacturing

Housing: manufactured in classified carbon steel plate in accordance with ASME VIII DIV.l standard code for pressure vessels. The oil separator and the float valve shall resist to a pressure of 30 Kg/cm².

Tests

Sampling destructive hydraulic tests and pneumatic pressure tests concerning the indicated pressure are performed in order to assure the set draining and resistance.
